We all know the famous saying about things that are unavoidable. Over the next few weeks we'll explore the magical world's equivalents. Are there wizarding world taxes? I imagine there must be. How does Snape feel about filing his? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and the Inevitable - Taxes.

Like many of us, it's more than likely Snape has been psychologically manipulated into questioning his own sanity by those in positions of authority who should know better. Do you think he realized what was happening at the time? If he did, how did he react? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Gaslighting.

It's likely the magical world's reaction to a pandemic like COVID-19 would be similar to ours, don't you think? Especially if their medical science is akin to hours. So how would a sequestered magical society function? And how would such a Ministry mandated quarantine order affect Snape? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Social Distancing.

While Snape may not be personally worried about this, many other likely are. Especially if they are as vulnerable to the vagaries of the stock market as we are in the Muggle world. How would societal pressures that could eliminate low wage earning jobs affect the magical world? Or Snape? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Job (In)Security.

Just about all the Muggle world is taking about right now is the current Coronavirus pandemic, and one of the biggest issues being reported in the news is price gouging. Normally inexpensive products have had their prices hiked 10 fold or more. What about the Wizarding World? Would they be vulnerable to similar tendencies? And how would Snape react to such underhanded tactics? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Price Gouging.

The Wizarding World is rather archaic in many ways and voting may be one of them. Whether it's votes in the Wizengamot, on the Board of Directors for Hogwarts or in some other area, is voter suppression a problem? Would Snape feel strongly about representation... or not? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Voter Suppression.

This issue may be one the magical world doesn't have. Or do they? We see women in canon doing many important jobs after all. So, how does Snape feel about women's rights? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Gender Equality.

This remains a huge problem for many in the Muggle world, and I imagine it affects magical society as well. After all, while they can do many things using magic, they can't create food that way. So how do they deal with this problem? Do they ignore it? Are there magical food banks? And how does Snape specifically address this problem? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Food Insecurity.

While public sentiment has changed on this topic, one imagines the WW lags behind the Muggle about such questions. Or do they? Perhaps they are more advanced, and the LGBTQ community is more accepted in the workplace and socially. However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Institutional Homophobia.

Money is certainly an important consideration in the magical world, and we all know Snape's mean family circumstances when he was growing up. Now that he's an adult, how does Snape deal with people much better off? Or worse off? Would he be a proponent of narrowing the wealth gap? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Wealth Inequality.

Our understanding of the wizarding world is that they are immune to Muggle illness but surely there must be epidemics that run rampant through the community. How would Snape handle a situation like that either at Hogwarts or in the greater wizarding world? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Epidemics.

Another of the major problems in the world today is immigration, not just in the UK, but worldwide. Does the Wizarding world face similar challenges? How would Snape view immigrants? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Immigration.

The (Muggle) news is rife with talk about white supremacy and its resurgence. In my mind the wizarding equivalent is blood purity. What are Snape's views on this controversial topic? The fact that he called himself "The Half-Blood Prince" suggests he thought about it a lot. How would he navigate the current climate of prejudice? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Blood Purity.

Your back-up mod completely flaked on her duties. Deepest apologies.

For the final holiday tradition, we look at Plough Monday, the traditional start of the agricultural year in England, usually the Monday after Epiphany and marking the end of the holidays. Would Snape be glad to get back to work after the festive holiday season? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Plough Monday.

This Christmas tradition is an English staple on the big day. So do wizards have something similar (the Minister's Speech, perhaps) or would they, too, just listen to the queen after their Yule feast?
And would Snape even care about what a (presumably) Muggle woman has to say anyway?
However you see it, tell us about it this week as we wrap up the Snapely Holiday Traditions with The Queen's Speech.

It's a fairly ubiquitous tradition to obtain a Christmas tree, either from a tree farm or perhaps going searching for the perfect specimen in a forest.
How would Snape approach this job? Would he be...picky? *g*

Secret (or dirty) Santa gift exchanges are often a fun staple for holiday gatherings. Would Snape be a willing participant, get into the spirit of things, or would he only begrudgingly participate?

Traditional English autumn seasonal cuisine means utilizing such items as squash, wild mushrooms, chestnuts, apples, blackberries and quince. What would Snape create with those ingredients? Apple crumble perhaps or some quince jelly? Or maybe he prefers roast chestnuts or root vegetable soups?

Another classic Autumn activity is the celebration of Bonfire Night aka Guy Fawkes night. Would Snape participate in this event? It's amusing to postulate that wizards could have been involved with the 17th century plot to blow up the Muggle house of Lords. *g*
