Thanks to [personal profile] torino10154 for posting for me last week. Alas, I was...indisposed. :(

This week we discuss a different "fire festival', the Beltane Fire Festival. Would Snape participate? With a friend or friends perhaps?
However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and the Beltane Fire Festival.

And speaking of things I don't understand... the Fyre Festival. How were people able to be so easily duped? Would Snape ever fall for such a thing? (I suspect not). But what do you think?
However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and the Fyre Festival.

I have a confession. I'm originally Jamaican, but have never understood cricket. What are those people doing out there? And what is the English/British Commonwealth fascination with it? So once again I ask, is there a wizarding equivalent or is cricket just a Muggle obsession? And, does Snape follow or even care about this game?
However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Cricket.

So, as an American, I have long been confused by this contest. What is Eurovision and why are all the entries so weird? Is there a wizarding equivalent or is Eurovision just a Muggle thing? Either way, does Snape follow it or even care about the competition?
However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Eurovision.

First, my condolences to all affected by the senseless violence in New Zealand. IMO, such acts of terror affect us all.

I've been thinking about it a lot the past few days, pondering how the magical world would deal with such horrible events. They can't ban all wands, obviously, but maybe they could have wand-free zones? Or maybe limit the number of wands allowed per wizard?
However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Wand Control.

There appears to be a definite gap between rich and poor in the magical society. So how does this impact wizards? In a society where you can magically alter your circumstances, does money matter that much, or is it more a matter of blood purity giving certain wizards a leg up?
However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and the Wealth Gap.

First, thank you to [personal profile] torino10154 for posting last week's prompt while I was computer-less. ♥

We continue with another in our political themes this week.

Does the magical world guarantee medical care for all? Or do they, like the United States, mostly use private health care? How do they view our system? How does Snape?
However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Universal Health Care.

Are women viewed as lesser in the magical world? Do they make less money, or encouraged not to pursue careers? How would Snape react to this -ism?

In the magical world everything seems to hinge on Blood Status. Is that their only form of prejudice, or are wizards racist in the Muggle way, too? How would that manifest? Has Snape encountered any?
However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Racism.

The magical world seems behind the Muggle on certain issues. Would gay rights be one of them? How would Snape feel about an attempt to legalize gay marriage, for example? Would he advocate for trans students?

Challenge 777: Snape and Drug Legalization

As it happens, your mod lives in a US state where marijuana was recently legalized. And since I'm in health care, a lot of people like to ask me about access to marijuana.
Let's extrapolate to the magical world. How would Snape react to the legalization of a previously illicit substance? A certain potion perhaps, or even an ingredient?
However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Drug Legalization.

This week we take a break from wizarding societies and instead we'll have a simple prompt word: Investigation.

Challenge 775: Snape and The Society for the Tolerance of Vampires

My apologies for missing last week's prompt post! With all the havoc surrounding the holidays, your mod forgot, and by the time I remembered it was too late.

Anyway, we're back, happy new year, and we'll continue our exploration of Snape and various societies.
As it says on the tin, this society advocates for a better relationship between humans and vampires. Since some believe Snape is a vampire, would he have anything to do with this group, or would he avoid them? However you see it, this week we discuss Snape and The Society for the Tolerance of Vampires.
