Severus shuddered.
After a few seconds his eyes adjusted to the darkness, and he remembered: Holiday. Hotel. On the desk, the remains of several joints rested in an ashtray. On the bureau, two standard-issue water glasses sat, empty, next to a pitcher bearing the dregs of schnapps and juice. On the radio, Bing Crosby crooned. In the bed, lying next to him, the only one he wanted from the world he'd left behind for the summer.
Charity stirred. "Mm? All right?"
Severus nestled closer to her. "Too much Sex on the Beach," he murmured into the nape of her neck.
