A/N: My writing has been too cheerful lately. Have three personal truths of Severus Snape.
He looks down from the Headmaster's tower like another hovering dementor. This, he thinks, is harder, unimaginably harder, than he'd predicted. He can't protect anyone, merely keep them alive, which is a far lesser thing. He cannot fathom the newfound intensity with which he needs people, people he never realized he cared for. He wishes he could cry in his private moments, but even if he could, none of his moments are truly private anymore. It almost overwhelms him; one day he'll falter, but please, please, not today. Severus Snape is already dead, he thinks, no one could survive this.
