Snape stepped into the dark passageway letting the door seal silently behind him. His relieved sigh was smothered by the mask which he quickly removed and slipped beneath his cloak. Lighting his wand, he moved down the corridor, noting but not remarking on, the small furry body that detached itself from a shadow and moved softly in his wake.
Upon reaching the sanctuary of his rooms, he briefly glanced down into bright feline eyes, framed with black markings. Delicately the cat brushed against his leg before vanishing into darkness, the sound of her claws on stone fading into the night.
