Severus pulled a bottle of single malt Whisky from its brown paper wrapper and tossed the crumpled bag onto the fire. Opening the bottle, he slowly poured a healthy tot into a clean glass. Setting the bottle aside, he sank into his chair and picked up his drink. Holding it up to the fire, he admired the warm amber colour of the liquid for a long moment before downing the contents in one gulp.
With a sigh, he murmured softly, “Happy birthday to me. Please, let it be my last...”
Reaching out for the bottle again, he refilled his glass.
